Welcome to My Nightmare

Long, long day. Got up about the usual time and decided nto to do any weed whacking today, to give my back and arms a break. Mom got up and she was hurting so bad that she asked if I could take her to the hospital in Oakhurst.

Mom doesn't request that often. Of course I got dressed quickly and grabbed a Coke. We went to the clinic and they saw Mom struggling to walk up and came out with a wheelchair, thankfully. Mom was nearly in tears. I swear she's aged 20 years in the last three because of this goddamn pain.

Then I spent hours and hours waiting. I knew they'd start with low doses and build up to a level that she could live with. Hours in uncomfortable chairs watching frickin Nascar. The race, whatever the hell it was, was in rain delay so these idiot announcers are trying to fill space, over an hour of filling space. Arrrgggghhhh

We then went to Vons to get Mom some milk and something to take to the bbq tonight. We were invited to Caroline and Manual's for Father's Day bbq with their family and Gene from next door. Couldn't really say no and thought it would be a good neighbor thing to do. I knew Mom wouldn't be up to making a cake so we thought to buy something.

We got some odds n ends and a cheesecake. Dashed home and managed to get mom upstairs and settled in.

She wasn't up to going to the bbq so I went over. I was nervous, of course, but it went well. I think I did okay. The dinner was more than excellent but longer than I expected. I didn't eat or drink too much and helped clean up afterwards. I got hugs from Caroline and two of her daughters so I think that went well.

Now I'm tired and my back is killing me.

Leg is throbbing, back is aching. Argh.

Tomorrow we'll go to Oakhurst for a few errands and not much else.
